Developers tend to write their software so they can be easily updated/upgraded and hardly ever write their software so they can be downgraded. In fact, just the fact that you are seeing Guest Additions with a version 6 likely indicates that you didn't remove the openSUSE installed Guest Additions before installing from your ISO. I'm pretty sure (but without actually installing a VBox 5.x on a Windows machine) that your installed Guest Additions should be a 5.x version, not anything that starts with a 6.

The Guest Additions support a number of functionality so it's unknown whether you're testing/viewing only something that works without knowing about other things that likely aren't working. In any case none of the Virtualbox Guest Additions you posted should be fully working no matter whether you think they are or not. Without the exact error, one can only wildly speculate. I'm really new to doing anything with a computer other than browsing, so if you want any more system/log info I'll be happy to provide it but I would appreciate some instructions for finding it, if possible. You're going to have to post either the Guest Additions Install log or capture and post the stdout (the two should be the same). If anyone can explain it to me like I'm a primary schooler, I'd be really grateful. I have seen lots of people ask the question but they've been installing on Linux or Ubuntu, or the information in the response is really technical. I tried to set up a shared folder but the VM informed me it wouldn't work because Guest Additions isn't installed (so there's my proof). I followed the setup from a YouTube video, and they got a notification.

However, when I open the VM and click "Install Guest Additions CD Image" it does nothing. I have successfully installed all of the above files.
